The Government of President Nayib Bukele is transforming the lives of the inhabitants of the El Jícaro community, Teotepeque, department of La Libertad, with road improvement projects and mitigation works.
The El Jícaro community is considered a highly vulnerable area due to its rustic and clay soil with difficult road access, which is in the process of rehabilitation.
The crews of the Municipal Works Directorate are working on the improvement of 630 meters of street lines; two of the three sections of the main street and a passage that registers 75% progress.
During the execution of the work, a set paving base and a mudcrete base were placed, and then more durable hydraulic concrete was installed.

This project has created a great positive social impact in this community since the construction of 16 protective walls has been carried out, to guarantee the lives of people and the safety of their homes.
Additionally, DOM crews have carried out the construction of 12 grandstand entrances, from the homes to the street being built, guaranteeing the safe transit of the inhabitants, as well as vehicular movement through the area.

Prior to the intervention of the work, the DOM crews together with personnel from the National Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers, ANDA, renewed 585 linear meters of the drinking water network, replacing an obsolete system with a completely new distribution network.
This process has also guaranteed the connection of drinking water service to more than 50% of the families in the area who previously did not have water resources.

Additionally, within the framework of road improvement, construction work has extended 80 linear meters of the rainwater discharge network, due to the susceptibility of the terrain.

In this municipality of La Libertad, the DOM is also advancing in the construction of a modern and equipped health clinic, in order to provide comprehensive and quality care to the residents of La Libertad.
