Eid Holidays, Average Daily Traffic on Trans Sumatra Toll Road Jumps 86%

JAKARTA – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted that traffic on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) during the Eid holiday was observed to be busy, with Average Daily Traffic (LHR) of 103,974 vehicles per day, or an increase of 86% from the normal LHR .

EVP Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim explained that the busy traffic during the Eid holiday reflects the high mobility and travel activities during Hari Raya, especially on the second day, April 11 2024. The high traffic mainly occurs on short toll roads. The highest LHR recorded occurred on the Indrapura-Limapuluh section, followed by Binjai-Stabat and Sigli-Banda Aceh.

“Hutama Karya sees that the two toll roads are quite close to tourist access and make it easier for travelers to stay in touch with extended family on the first and second days of Eid 2024,” explained Adjib in an official statement, Friday (12/4/20424).

The details of the LHR per each toll road are as follows:

Terbanggi Besar-Kayu Agung (Persenka) Toll Road: 18,115 Vehicles or an increase of 70% from normal LHR
Palembang-Prabumulih Toll Road (Palindra & Inprabu): 17,104 Vehicles or an increase of 77% from normal LHR
Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung (Bengtaba) toll road: 2,505 vehicles or an increase of 103% from normal LHR
Pekanbaru-Bangkinang (Pekbang) toll road: 7,678 vehicles or an increase of 87% from normal LHR
Pekanbaru-Dumai (Permai) toll road: 16,380 vehicles or an increase of 27% from normal LHR
Indrapura-Limapuluh (Inkis) Toll Road: 19,030 vehicles or 171% higher than normal LHR
Binjai-Stabat (Binsa) toll road: 17,068 vehicles or an increase of 130% from normal LHR
Sigli-Banda Aceh (Seulimeum-Baitussalam) (Sibanceh) toll road: 6,094 vehicles or an increase of 123% from normal LHR

Meanwhile, the LHR additional functional tolls during the D and D+1 days of Eid are as follows:

Bangkinang-XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road: 3,845 vehicles
Indrapura-Kisaran Section Fifty-Kisaran Toll Road: 7,507 vehicles

Regarding the high traffic, Adjib appealed to toll road users to check the condition of their vehicles before driving, ensure they are in prime condition and not drive while drowsy.

“Pull over and rest if you feel sleepy, also make sure your electronic money card is in good condition and has sufficient balance. Also, understand that safety is number one,” he said.
