Egyptian Association Honors Historian Bouchich

Professor Ibrahim Al-Qadiri Boutchich, Professor Emeritus at Moulay Ismail University in Meknes, is considered one of the most prominent Moroccan historians who have built bridges of scientific communication between Morocco and the Levant. He has made international scientific trips to all continents of the world as a lecturer, participant in seminars and conferences, and researcher in the archives of global libraries.

In this context, Boutchiche recently arrived in Cairo, where he was hosted by the Egyptian Historical Society, to give a lecture on the subject of “The Moroccan Historical School: Contexts, Tributaries and Trends.”

Following the conclusion of the lecture and its rich discussion, the Egyptian Historical Society awarded the Moroccan historian an honorary shield, in recognition of his status at the international level, his rich academic career, and as a culmination of his efforts in developing Arab historical research and forming generations of historians and researchers.

This honor also came one day after his participation in a scientific committee to discuss a university thesis at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, on the topic of “Crimes and Moroccan Society in the Marinid Era.”

Such occasions honoring intellectuals constitute a link in the chain of communication between the two countries of Morocco and Egypt, and contribute to activating cultural diplomacy between the peoples of the two brotherly countries.
