Efforts to control the forest fire in Aydın continue

Air intervention in the fire continued into the night

AYDIN ​​- Two night vision firefighting helicopters worked from the air and ground teams from the land until the morning in the fire area that started yesterday in Gümüşyeniköy, Germencik district of Aydın and spread to a wide area by growing with the effect of the wind, reaching Argavlı Neighborhood, Söke district. In the early hours of the morning, 7 helicopters and 5 planes started extinguishing operations.

According to the information received, a fire broke out for an unknown reason in an agricultural area in the Gümüşyeniköy area of ​​Ortaklar Neighborhood. The flames spread over a wide area due to the effect of the wind and reached the borders of the Söke Argavlı Neighborhood. Fire extinguishing teams were dispatched to the region from the Muğla Forestry Regional Directorate, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality and surrounding provinces. In addition to the extinguishing teams, TOMA, AFAD, Gendarmerie, UMKE and Red Crescent teams also took part in the crisis center established in the fire area. While water trucks, construction equipment and tankers were used to intervene in the fire from the land, 9 aircraft and 9 helicopters, two of which had night vision, continued their work to control the flames from the air.

As the weather darkened, two night vision firefighting helicopters were dispatched to the area to intervene in the fire. While the night vision helicopters continued to intervene in the flames from the air until the first light of the morning, ground teams also supported the fight. In the early hours of the morning, 7 helicopters and 5 aircraft began extinguishing efforts.
