Economic situation reduces ship docking at the Port of Lobito

Since mid-2014, Angola has been experiencing an economic, financial and exchange rate crisis due to the drop in revenue from oil exports. The Port of Lobito continues to face several difficulties such as: the reduction in the number of large ships docking from 50 to 32 monthly, a tiny number compared to previous years.

The data was revealed this Friday afternoon (5), by the head of operations at the Port of Lobito, Alberto Nelson, during a visit carried out to the aforementioned Port Unit, by students from the Instituto Superior Politécnico Kalandula de Angola.

In addition to Porto do Lobito, students also visited the Cuca and Coca-Cola factories located in the municipality of Catumbela.

It should be remembered that the visits fall within the scope of the activities of the “fifth edition” of the university tour, which ISPEKA students are carrying out in the city of flamingos (Benguela).
