This earthquake was the latest in a series of recent seismic events. Earlier, on June 8, the UAE experienced a magnitude 2.8 earthquake in Masafi, and on May 29, a magnitude 3.1 earthquake occurred in the Sea of Oman off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah, followed by another magnitude 2.8,” the source notes.
Also on May 17, an earthquake with a magnitude of 1.9 was recorded in Al-Halakh at a depth of five kilometers.
“The UAE is located in an area of low to moderate seismic activity, so residents of the country should not experience significant concern,” the authors of the information message added.
Previously, earthquakes occurred in Georgia, Turkey, Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Armenia, Syria, the USA, the Caspian Sea, Taiwan, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Along with this, messages about supposedly upcoming strong earthquakes that should cover the entire planet are actively spreading on social networks. Seismologists have refuted this information.
