Marketing and Communication Department Head of Jasa Marga, Faiza Riani, explained that this number was 4% of the total 385,000 vehicles that carried out transactions at GT Kalikangkung in the same period. If the e-toll balance is low and the e-toll top up is carried out at the toll booth, this will result in significant delays.
“With this delay, we recorded an average decrease in toll booth transaction capacity at Kalikangkung GT of -5% per hour,” said Faiza in a press release, Saturday (13/4/2024).
“Initially in 1 minute we could serve transactions for up to five vehicles, if a road user had a low balance and had to top up at a toll booth, then in 1 minute we would only be able to serve one vehicle,” he continued.

Faiza reminded road users of the toll rates that must be prepared for continuous travel for reverse traffic, especially from the direction of Surabaya and Semarang to Jakarta, which will then carry out transactions at the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.
From Semarang to Jakarta, class 1 vehicles must prepare an e-toll with a minimum balance of IDR 500,000. Meanwhile, for road users from Surabaya to Jakarta, they must prepare an e-toll with a minimum balance of IDR 1,000,000.
“We also remind users, especially those traveling on the Trans Java Toll Road with a closed transaction system (tariff according to distance), that they can only use the same e-toll when tapping in and tapping out so that when the balance is low they cannot borrow an e-toll “For this reason, once again, ensure that your e-toll balance is sufficient to avoid queues at the toll gate,” said Faiza.
Jasa Marga again appeals to road users to ensure their readiness before traveling, including by ensuring sufficient e-toll and fuel balances, as well as ensuring that the vehicle and driver are in prime condition.
When entering the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Jasa Marga urges road users to obey the signs and directions of officers because the slightest disturbance that occurs will have an impact on the existing traffic flow and result in queues of vehicles.
Faiza also again appealed to people who are currently still in their hometowns to arrange travel times back to Jabotabek. The return flow period itself has a fairly short number of days when compared to the homecoming flow. This year, the peak return flow is predicted to fall on Monday, April 15 2024.
