Durango, among the states with the greatest growth in economic activity

Durango, the state governed by Esteban Villegas, became the third with the highest growth in economic activity, this at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023 and according to Inegi figures.

According to data provided by Inegi, according to the results of the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity, in the fourth quarter of 2023 and with seasonally adjusted figures, the economic activity of Durango showed an advance of 5.6%, in both other entities such as Yucatán advanced 5.4% and Campeche with 5.3%; while Quintana Roo had a rebound of 10.6% and Aguascalientes of 6.9%.

“In the October-December quarter of 2023, at an annual rate and with seasonally adjusted figures, the states that reported the most significant advances in their economic activity were:

Quintana Roo, Aguascalientes, Durango, Yucatán and Campeche,” noted the INEGI.

In Durango, primary activities stood out, with an advance of 5.2 percent compared to 0.3% nationally; while in secondary activities it grew 6.5% against 2.8% nationally and; in tertiary education, 2.9 versus 2.4% nationally.

On the other hand, economic activity in Mexico City at the end of last year advanced 2.9%; that of Nuevo León, 4.2% and that of Jalisco, 1.4%.

Likewise, according to Inegi data, in the fourth quarter of 2023 and with seasonally adjusted figures, the states that registered the most pronounced increases in their economic activity, compared to the previous quarter, were: Guanajuato, Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, Nuevo León, Michoacán de Ocampo, Jalisco and Tlaxcala.
