Doctor and teacher Dr. BM Atikuzzaman awarded ‘Desra Ratna’ medal.
Consul General of Bangladesh Embassy of America Iqbal Ahmed gave this medal to him in the ninth anniversary ceremony of the social organization Karigar.
Dr. BM Atikuzzaman lives in Orland, Florida with his family. He is a renowned gastroenterologist and liver specialist serving as director of the Digestive and Liver Center of Florida. He is also a founding faculty of the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine.
Although living in America for almost three long years, he has been helping to develop education and technical knowledge in the field of medical science in Bangladesh.
He is the current chairman of ‘Planetary Health Academia’, an organization of non-resident Bangladeshi doctors. This organization is working in collaboration with doctors in Bangladesh to provide modern health education and technology. This organization has been making a huge contribution in the field of liver transplant, cancer treatment, advanced heart surgery, research in the country.
Dr. In 2020, BM Atikuzzaman contributed to the establishment of an organization called ‘Click Health Service’ for the treatment of elderly relatives of expatriate Bangladeshis. He was awarded a special medal by Time Television for his outstanding contribution to Bangladesh and expatriate Bangladeshis during the Corona period.
Dr. BM Atikuzzaman is a writer, traveler and social worker. He continues to work tirelessly for health education through various media and social media.
