“I will try to meet the target. But don’t lead me to be like God. Because I am only human and will try my best to meet the target,” said Indra Sjafri in a press conference quoted from the official PSSI website, Tuesday (16/7/2024).
Facing the Philippines, Indra Sjafri said that many changes had occurred in all countries including the participants in Group A. So, the thick-moustached coach did not want to underestimate any opponent he faced, including the Philippines.
“All teams participating in Group A are good, there are many changes, coaching in each country. So we will not underestimate our opponents. We do not comment too much on our opponents, we focus on our own team. Of course we want to win,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Philippines coach Josep Maria Ferre said that Indonesia is a good team, the preparation is certainly good. Indonesia certainly does not want to get a draw, will always be alert on the field. He admitted that his team’s preparation was only 3 months, but the team continues to develop well and is ready.
“They have good players. I am very surprised by the good work of the Indonesian team. Moreover, they prepared this tournament well. I think, our team only prepared for 3 months. But we continue to develop for this tournament. For this tournament we think Indonesia is a strong team, they have a good chance,” he added.
