The Mexican currency registers a marginal decline of 0.02% compared to Wednesday’s reference price, after reaching weaken earlier to 17.13 unitsits worst level since early May.
The local currency reduced its losses due to a global weakening of the dollar after it was announced that the US economy grew in the first quarter at a slower rate than estimated.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the United States advanced 1.3% from January to March at an annual rate, below the previous estimate of 1.6% and notably slower than the 3.4% pace of the last three months of 2023.
