We are ready at any moment to implement the Crossroads of Peace program, which we presented our ideas with, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced today, saying that they are ready to implement the Crossroads of Peace not only with Azerbaijan. Pashinyan noted that he says so because the Crossroads of Peace does not refer only to relations with Azerbaijan.

Perhaps Nikol Pashinyan “said it mildly”, because the topic of unblocking channels does not concern Azerbaijan at all. Of course, we are not talking about formal relevance. In a formal sense, of course, the issue is in the domain of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, but globally, the topic of unblocking channels is in the field of geopolitics, in the field of the global struggle for world redistribution. Therein lies the nail.

In essence, by putting forward the Peace Crossroads project, Yerevan is essentially hinting that it does not want to become a party to a geopolitical confrontation on this topic. Will it be possible to stay in that position, this is a question, the answer to which is quite difficult. Moreover, it is not complicated in the sense that Yerevan has to choose a side in the end. The whole question is that in the end the strategic approach and interest of any party should prevail. In this case, of course, what is said in favor is not one country, but any combination of beneficiary countries. Ultimately, the key question is under whose geopolitical control will the unblocked channels be?

And here, of course, the issue is not only the regime of their activity and the ratio of the countries’ sovereignty. Because the issue of sovereignty does not close the existence of the issue of geopolitical supremacy. Bringing forward the idea of ​​Khachmeruk, Yerevan is trying to form a logic of “multipolarity” at least in the information domain, thus trying to form an environment of counterbalances on the topic at least at the level of perceptions, which will allow to reduce any challenge of choice or any challenge of choice. Apparently, it is difficult to say whether it turns out in practice or not, because the topic of channels is currently unfolding in an excellent “underground” mode.
