Some deputies of the ruling majority of Armenia, perhaps not without a special assignment, are spreading an information-propaganda “resolution” that anyone who opposes the agreement and demarcation of the Tavush border is in favor of the war and wants to involve Armenia in the war. It is not at all excluded that even in Armenia there are forces that are interested in war, expecting that as a result of this there will be a difficult situation and finally it will be possible to reach the resignation of the government.
Perhaps with that in mind, the government is trying to appoint “culprits” of a possible military escalation as a “preventive” measure. However, it should be understood that the problem is very serious, the situation in the region and around it is quite serious. There is no need for any additional testimony or evidence to understand this. In this situation, any action of appointing “internal culprits of the war” in Armenia may be useful to someone from the point of view of political conjuncture, but it cannot be useful in any way from the point of view of the interest and security of Armenia.
The issue of the war in the Caucasus has been open since the 44-day war, and the “key” to that issue, “the key” in a bad sense, of course, is not, has not been, and cannot be in Armenia at all. That question is in the domain of the struggle of power centers, essentially in the domain of a world war for a new division of the world. Simply, anyone can “throw” the key into Armenia’s pocket after opening the “door of war”. Today, Armenia must find enough internal strength and wisdom to keep its pockets closed, instead of opening them wider.
After the 44-day war, and even today, there is a rumor in Armenia that Armenia provoked the war by not going to settlement for years, by failing the negotiations after 2018, etc. Just as that speech was cut off from political realities and adequacy, whether intentionally or unintentionally, with a sincere understanding or a manipulative motive, so it is the same in the current situation, including the public attitude towards a specific example.
