On the occasion of the Great Independence Month, Sanskritiyan organized the award ceremony of ‘Discussion and Exhibition of Liberation War Documentary Stills and Art Works-2023’ in two phases. In the first phase, there was a discussion meeting and in the second phase, certificates were awarded.
The discussion and certificate awarding was held on Friday (March 1) afternoon. Three artists Nayan Gharami, Soumik Ghosh and Farzana Yasmin Prabha received memorial awards and certificates in the name of Rabi’s three martyred intellectuals. In addition, a total of 33 people obtained certificates in two other categories which were awarded to the achievers on the said occasion.
In the presence of two children of martyred intellectuals of Rajshahi University in the Liberation War and the presence of all the participants in the exhibition of documentary stills and artworks based on the Liberation War, the organization was completed under the supervision of Assistant Professor Sukhan Sarkar of Drama Department.
The special guest in the program was the daughter of the martyred intellectual Prof. Mir Abdul Qayyum. Dr. Kaniz Keya and martyred intellectual professor Sukhranjan Samaddar’s son. Salil Ranjan Samaddar. Professor Dr. was the chief guest. Abdul Khalek, Educationist and former Vice-Chancellor, Rajshahi University and Advisor, Bangladesh Awami League.
Professor Mir Abdul Qayyum’s daughter Prof. Mahbuba Kaniz Kaya said, “My father, you and father, it is our responsibility to remember the martyrs and we are the children of the martyrs but we have to see the establishment of the Razakars, then you will understand how we are.”
Former Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nurullah, this event on March 1 has given me new encouragement for freedom.
Chief guest Prof. Abdul Khalek said, the presence of the martyred children and their words are an expression of heart-wrenching love and their words touch our hearts. We still haven’t got the Bangladesh that the martyred intellectuals dreamed of, we have that failure and wish the success of today’s event.
The three artists participated in the ‘Liberation War Based Documentary Stills and Art Works Exhibition-2023’ held on December 14-16 in the organization of Sanskritization in 2023, and received commemorative awards and certificates. Martyr intellectual Dr. Nayan Gharami was honored with the Habibur Rahman Memorial Award, Somik Ghosh was awarded with the Martyr Intellectual Professor Sukh Ranjan Samadar Memorial Award and Farzana Yasmin Prabha was awarded with the Martyr Intellectual Professor Mir Abdul Qayyum Memorial Award. In addition, 30 other nominees who participated in the exhibition received honorary certificates.
