Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena thanked the ambassadors of Germany, Panama, Cuba and Honduras for accompanying the Mexican diplomatic corps that is leaving Ecuador after the assault on the embassy.
In her X social network account, Bárcena said that diplomatic personnel leave everything in Ecuador and “return home with their heads and the name of Mexico held high.”
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked Mexico’s allies for their solidarity after the assault by Ecuadorian police forces to the Mexican diplomatic headquarters.
This Sunday, April 7, the Mexican diplomatic corps is already traveling back to Mexico from Quito, the SRE reported.
At the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito, several representatives from other countries were waiting for the Mexican delegation, especially from Chile and Peru, who came to see them off, according to diplomatic sources.

The SRE reported that the Mexican embassy in Ecuador will close indefinitely, as well as consular services, so the Mexican and business community, which is more than 1,600 people, will be able to use the following means to obtain assistance.
