Din Syamsuddin Invites the Community to Support the Action to Defend Palestine at Monas Sunday

JAKARTA – Chairman of the Steering Committee (SC) of the Indonesian People’s Alliance to Defend Palestine, Din Syamsuddin, invites all Indonesian people to support the independence of Palestine, which is being colonized by the Israeli Zionist government. Din also invited the Indonesian people to take part in the Grand Action to Defend Palestine on Sunday (7/4/2024) in the Monas area, Central Jakarta.

Din explained that support for the people of Gaza and the Palestinian people as a whole is part of the 1945 Constitution, namely realizing lasting peace and eliminating all forms of colonialism on the face of the earth. “Israel’s Zionist atrocities against Gaza and Palestine are beyond the limits of humanity. “As a nation that loves peace and justice, the Indonesian people must support independence for Palestine,” said Din during a prayer press conference for Gaza, South Jakarta, Thursday (4/4/2024).

The former General Chair of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership revealed that the grand action to Defend Palestine at Monas will be held from 16.00 WIB. “Let’s join the great action of the Indonesian people’s alliance to defend Palestine on Sunday, April 7 2024, starting at 16.00 afternoon in the Monas area, Jakarta,” continued Din.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the Indonesian People’s Alliance to Defend Palestine, Bachtiar Nasir, said that the declaration of Palestinian independence must be promoted in order to urge a permanent ceasefire. “We also urge from around the world to pressure Israel to comply with three UN Security Council (United Nations) resolutions and two UN general assembly resolutions,” said Bachtiar.

He also said the whole world must also pressure Israel to comply with the Geneva convention to protect civilians, places of worship, hospitals and safe places in Palestine. “We also ask the whole world to pressure Israel to comply with the International Court’s decision,” continued Bachtiar.

Bachtiar added that the grand Defending Palestine action would later be held by signing the longest signature as a form of support for Palestine. “Make sure you are part of history, who will sign the longest autograph, also throughout the world,” stressed Bachtiar.

It is known that the Grand Action to Defend Palestine which will be held on April 7 2024 will be packaged by collecting one million signatures as part of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence. Apart from this solidarity action, the activity will also be accompanied by breaking the longest joint fast in Jakarta, starting between Monas or Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.
