Even though Diljit Dosanjh, who starred opposite Parineeti Chopra in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, received a lot of praise for his role, many fans were worried about his looks. People assumed that Diljit, who was very clear about not taking off his turban for any role, cut his hair for the film Chamkila.
Speaking to Radio Nasha, Imtiaz Ali said that although he would not like to share personal details about the Chamkila star, Diljit “has not sacrificed a single hair for this film”.

“I would not like to share his personal details, but yes, Diljit is wearing a wig. That wig is just like his turban. He has not sacrificed even a single hair for this film,” he told Radio Nasha.
He further added, “Because he played a character and he knew what Chamkila looked like, he managed to look into that character with the wig. He adopted the look very honestly and with very good intentions.”

In earlier interviews, Diljit had shared that giving up his turban for any role was not negotiable. Recently he was also quoted as saying that he would not play roles that required him to change his turban-clad appearance.
Speaking to CNN News 18, Imtiaz had earlier shared that Diljit’s face turned red when he heard the song ‘Naram Kalja’.

Imtiaz said that Digit had said, “Oh my God, what kind of things did these people say.”
“They sing very obscene songs during festivals. You must have heard these traditional songs being sung during weddings in many cultures of our country, in small villages. These are very obscene songs. So, I think, Somehow, Imitaaz said, “What also happens is that these songs tend to objectify men.”
