The film ‘Shaya Vriksha’ received government grant in the financial year 2019-20. It is produced by Bandhan Biswas on the story of the untold struggle in the life of tea workers. The film also stars Kazi Nowshaba, Sumit Sengupta, Shatabdi Wadud, Don, Elina Shammi and Azam Khan. It is produced under the banner of Anupam Kathachitra with story and screenplay by Tanveer Ahmed Sidney.
Apu Biswas said about the film, ‘I am a romantic heroine. I have always done commercial films. It’s a film for which I had to blacken up my complexion, prepare myself for the character. And I leave it to the audience to judge how the chemistry between me and Nirv has been.’

Dighi said about this film starring himself, ‘Anudan movies are almost of the same style. Mostly about liberation wars, love movies are rare. This is one of them. So I’d say, it’s going to be an exceptional picture of the grant. And I myself am lucky, I got to act in a film based on a novel.’
‘Shaya Vriksha’ and ‘Shravan Jyotsnaya’ hit the screens with government grants and an equal number of theatres. Which of these films will win the hearts of the audience, let’s leave it to time.
