This Thursday, July 11, Chilean musician Diego Álvarez and his band will perform a concert at the SCD Bellavista Hall, reviewing the songs that are part of his debut album Humo Blanco and revealing the songs that will be part of his soon-to-be-released second album.
Diego Álvarez came to the solo singing and songwriter scene after his time in the new wave bands Mecánica Popular (1999) and Bocallave (2005). His training in some way foretold his desire to work alone, in order to enjoy creative freedom and put his mark as a guitarist with obvious influences from British rock, which has contributed so many textures to the bands he has participated in, at the service of his poetry.
While remaining a stable guitarist for Manuel García’s band, he began to fine-tune the songs that would later shape Humo Blanco, his debut album, a work with notable rock and progressive influences and more personal lyrics.
Álvarez is currently a music producer for various artists and is working on his second studio album with renowned Argentine sound engineer and producer Guido Nisenson.
