Veteran Bollywood superstar Dharmendra, who was recently seen in Karan Johar directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, shared a video of himself lip-syncing to a ghazal written by Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. . The senior actor shared a video on his X account, in which he can be seen lip-syncing to the song of famous playback singer Mohammed Rafi.
The actor wrote in the caption, “Haqiqat e zindagi kar bahut hai…My family people…My fans can’t see me sad.” Talking about songs, lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi had used the Mughal emperor’s ghazal in the song ‘Lagta Nahi Dil Mera’ from the 1960 film ‘Lal Qila’. This ghazal was originally written by the Mughal emperor while he was in exile in Rangoon (Myanmar).
In this poem his pain of separation from his country and his loved ones is clearly visible. He remained in Rangoon until his death and was buried there. He was aware of his fate, which he expressed in the last couplet of this ghazal.
