Development of a roadmap with local authorities

A multi-stakeholder consultation workshop entitled “ Connecting diasporas and institutions» was held yesterday at the Solimotel in Anosy, as part of the program “ Connect’Diasporas » – Partnerships with local authorities, placed under the theme “Let us support and promote the contributions of migration here and there “. The event was organized by FORIM, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar (MAE), through DDIAQM, and FACT Madagascar.

Six African countries. The Connect’Diasporas program aims to strengthen links between African diasporic federations based in Europe and public authorities in countries of origin, through an approach of structured dialogue, mutual recognition and co-construction. The project concerns six African countries, including Madagascar. The workshop is part of the project’s first field mission to Madagascar, organized from January 16 to 24, 2026. It brings together representatives of national institutions, local authorities, civil society, economic actors, as well as organizations from the diaspora, notably FACT Madagascar.

Structured dialogue. Explaining the spirit of the project, Adel Abdedaïm, FORIM program coordinator, indicated that the initiative aims to “ lay the foundations of a structured framework for dialogue between diasporas and institutions “. The discussions made it possible to identify common priorities and prepare the development of a roadmap “ Diaspora-Authorities », intended to be consolidated during the next phases of the program, supported by the European Union within the framework of MMD III.
