Developing Moroccan-Brazilian relations besieges illusion mongers in South America

The Moroccan autonomy proposal continues to gain praise in a number of countries of the world, including South America, where it became clear that a number of countries in this geographical area have retreated from their previous positions in support of the proposal of Algeria and the Polisario, to engage today in the framework of distinguished political and economic relations with the Kingdom, which confirmed the effectiveness of the proposal. Moroccan steps towards these countries.

These steps were categorically confirmed by Brazil, which renewed its praise of the serious and credible Moroccan efforts within the framework of moving forward towards settling the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara with the autonomy proposal that was submitted in 2007, as this important Brazilian position emerged in the joint statement issued following the discussions. This praise was also reinforced by the planning of Rabat and Brasilia to establish a strategic dialogue aimed at consolidating the strong and long-term partnership between the countries, with its formulas to be determined later. Positive and realistic

Lahcen Qartit, an expert in international relations, said, “The importance of this renewed position by Brazil lies in the fact that the latter is among the powerful economies globally and an influential country in the level of alliances continentally and globally, and specifically within BRICS. In a statement to Hespress, Qartit stressed, “These countries are now starting from the paradigm of pragmatism and realism, which expresses the change in the political mood in Latin America, whose positions were historically dependent on the mentality of the ruling regime. “This transformation is mainly due to these South American regimes distancing themselves from previous ideological proposals and giving priority to the interests of their economies, which makes them today close to the Kingdom politically,” the spokesman said, adding that “this is also due to the diplomatic performance of the Kingdom of Morocco, which sought to penetrate the region’s elite with the aim of Convincing them that their countries’ national interests are more important than ideological alignments.”

He added: “The Kingdom, in turn, expressed its openness to these elites, which was actually represented by the Foreign Minister’s visits to South American countries and the nature of the diplomats who were appointed there, while these changes are also linked to the role of the Kingdom’s allies in the region, including Spain, which had a positive impact.” In favor of Rabat,” concluding that “countries in South America have advanced positions regarding the Moroccan autonomy proposal, which confirms the occurrence of profound changes in the region in the coming years in a manner consistent with the interests of the Kingdom.”

The calligrapher added, in a statement to Hespress, that “the Brazilian position on the Sahara issue cannot be a spontaneous or momentary position, but rather it is a carefully considered and strategic position that is in line with the positions of the Moroccan people as a whole.” Brazil’s position cannot be compared to the positions of marginal countries in the region,” he continued: “Brasilia’s position is at least equivalent to Washington’s position in the south of the American continent, which makes Morocco today fraught with the support of the most prominent countries in the world.”

The speaker stated that “countries today have begun to bloc within a geo-strategic framework with the aim of establishing international balances, as we are no longer governed by ourselves alone, but rather by these balances that govern us; The issue of autonomy in the southern provinces is framed in this context, given that Morocco is now placing this issue at the core of its relations with abroad.”

He continued: “Disintegration is over, and the world today is involved in the cycle of globalization, which requires countries to unite within the framework of alliances, and Morocco is well aware of this issue, which has made it today coordinate with a number of internationally respected parties, bringing to mind the issue of the southern regions,” concluding with “autonomy.” “It is a strategic and very important issue for Morocco, and it is very important that it receives the support of a number of emerging countries in the world, such as Brazil.”
