Debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump will be this Thursday, what time will it be?

This Thursday, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will face off in the first US presidential debate of 2024.

Biden and Trump will take the stage in preparation for the November elections, which will be a rematch between both candidates who competed in 2020.

The American media Politico highlighted that Biden is preparing at Camp David, a presidential retreat in Maryland, together with his advisors on how to respond to the Republican rival and focus on the issues that his campaign hopes to focus on in the debate.

Meanwhile, Trump has remained campaigning, attending political rallies. During one in Philadelphia he polled the audience whether he should be “strong and dirty” or “nice and calm” with the American president in the debate.

About the debate

This first presidential debate will take place next Thursday the 27th at 7:00 p.m. (9:00 p.m. local time) with a duration of 90 minutes and two commercial breaks.

CNN will host the debate without an audience in its studios in the city of Atlanta, with hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash as moderators.

The debate can be seen on CNN channels, the Max video platform and Fox News, ABC, NBC and C-SPAN (public) television stations, under the condition that they broadcast under the conditions imposed by CNN.

Among the likely issues the candidates will address are abortion and immigration.

A survey conducted by YouGov indicates that the topics voters want to talk about are inflation, border security, health care, social security, corruption, climate change, taxes, the national debt, China, Ukraine, weapons and Israel.

Accusations

Former president and virtual Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump demanded on Monday that President Biden submit to a drug test before the first presidential debate on Thursday, days after pointing out, without any evidence, that his Democratic rival would arrive on stage “high” from CNN where the meeting will take place.

“DRUG TEST FOR CORRUPT JOE BIDEN? I WOULD ALSO AGREE TO DO IT IMMEDIATELY!!!” Trump, 78, wrote in Truth Social after he and his allies repeatedly suggested that Biden, 81, be medicated during the Atlanta forum.

On Saturday, Trump mocked Biden and suggested Biden may be using medical supplements as part of his “preparation” for the debate.
