Death toll rises to 60 in deadly attack in Moscow, IS claims responsibility – 2024-03-23 21:42:25

At least 60 people have been killed so far in a gun attack and bomb blast at a concert on the outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow. The Russian intelligence agency confirmed this information. The Federal Security Service (FSB) said more than 100 people were injured in the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert. BBC news.

The Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, Russia has not commented on this. The attack took place on Friday evening (March 22) local time. Three gunmen reportedly opened fire. The Russian National Guard is looking for those gunmen.

Meanwhile, the White House says it is working to learn more about the situation there. However, Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attack.

The White House has confirmed that Russian authorities have been warned of possible attacks targeting ‘large gatherings’ in Moscow as early as March.

Firefighters rescued around 100 people from there after the attack. The Russian Ministry of Health said that the injured have already been admitted to hospital. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin called the incident a ‘terrible tragedy’.
