A worshiper died in prostration while offering namaz at a mosque in Syedpur, Nilphamari.
The incident took place on Wednesday (February 14) during the Fajr prayer at Banshbari Jame Rizvia Mosque adjacent to Al Farooq Academy in Ward No. 13 of the city.
The deceased has been identified as Bhola Koraishi (53). He is the third son of late Khayrati Koraishi, a resident of Old Kilkhana Mohalla, Bansbari.
Bhola Quraishi was a butcher by profession. He has his business in the railway factory gate market of the city.
According to local sources, Bhola Koraishi went to offer Fajr prayers at Banshbari Jame Rizvia Mosque as usual. He fell to his death while prostrating himself while offering Sunnah prayers there. When the obligatory prayer started, the other worshipers called out but got no response. After completing the obligatory prayer, he approached and realized that he had died. On hearing the news, the family members came and took the body home.
The deceased’s younger brother Nadeem Koraishi (Chhatu), President of Syedpur Meat Traders Association, said that his elder brother Bhola Koraishi lived a very simple life. He prayed regularly. He observed nafal fast three days a week throughout the year. For some time he was learning to recite the Qur’an Sharif in the correct manner from the muezzin every day after prayers.
Relatives said that he will be buried in Hatikhana cemetery after Esha prayer.
