JAKARTA – PT Danareksa (Persero) stated its readiness to attract foreign investment from global industries to enter the Batang Integrated Industrial Area (KITB), Central Java, after being inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Friday (26/7). KITB is an industrial cluster under the management of Danareksa as the Holding Specialist for Transformation and Investment.

“Danareksa is committed to carrying out the mandate of the national strategic project from the government to increase the capacity of KITB so that it can attract PMA and absorb massive labor,” said Danareksa President Director Yadi Jaya Ruchandi, Saturday (27/7/2024).

With the entry of foreign investment (PMA), he continued, it is hoped that KITB will be able to contribute to state revenue through taxes and regional revenue through levies.

To attract foreign investors, various complete infrastructure and utilities have been prepared in the area. Among others, connectivity between toll roads, ports, and railways. KITB also carries the concept of green, sustainable, and circular economy, which is important for global investors.

KITB is located on 4,300 hectares (ha) of land that can accommodate the needs of global industries that adopt high technology, including labor-intensive industries.

From the social aspect, KITB has currently absorbed 19,000 workers. Danareksa targets that activities in this industrial area in the future will be able to absorb more than 200,000 workers in the future.

The investment value that has entered KITB has reached Rp14.8 trillion from the utilization of 271 ha of land. The investment came from several countries in Asia, America, and Europe. “We are optimistic that KITB can contribute to driving the Indonesian economy and encouraging increased welfare of the surrounding community,” he said.
