Dadu: Malala Yousafzai expresses concern over education system being affected

Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has reached Dadu district in a helicopter from Karachi to relieve various districts of Sindh province affected by the flood situation after monsoon rains.

Malala Yousafzai was accompanied by her father Ziauddin Yousafzai, Sindh Health Minister Dr Ezra Pechuho, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah and Shahzad Rai of Zindagi Trust.

Malala Yousafzai visited the government tent city set up by the district administration in Chandan village of Johi Tehsil of Dadu district.

According to Sindh Chief Minister’s Spokesperson Abdul Rashid Chana, flood affected women welcomed Malala Yousafzai to the camp in the official tent city built by the district administration in Chandan village.

‘Malala inspired women, you are brave women and you are facing this difficult time.’

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah, while giving a briefing to Malala Yousafzai about the education system affected after the floods in Sindh, said that the education of 2 million children in 12 thousand schools has been affected due to the floods in Sindh.

Apart from this, many areas of the province are still under water, after the water is drained, further surveys will be done to determine the damage to the schools.

Malala expressed concern over educational institutions and children’s education being affected.

On her return to Karachi from Dawood, Malala Yousafzai will also meet Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Yesterday Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai arrived in Pakistan along with her parents.

He visited Government Elementary College in Azizabad, Karachi on Tuesday. On this occasion, University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, singer Shahzad Roy and others were also with him.
