Within the framework of the commemoration of the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace, through the Matilde Hidalgo Social Action Directorate and the project to promote gender equality and promotion of rights in the province of Loja; The Prefecture has planned the Stone Tunnel Cycle Walk – 50K, which will take place this Sunday, April 14.
The prefect Mario Mancino, during the presentation of the event, highlighted the importance of this activity within the practice of cycling, which in turn will allow you to enjoy beautiful landscapes. According to him, the route will begin in Jipiro Park, El Tren sector, continue through the Lolita Samaniego citadel, Villonaco – Cera – Taquil – Túnel de Piedra until, finally, reaching Trapichillo in the Catamayo canton.
Participants will receive participation medals and several prizes donated by sponsors will be raffled among them.
On the other hand, to guarantee the safety of cyclists and citizens traveling through the sector, an operational contingent has been coordinated: two patrol cars and five motorcyclists; that will accompany you throughout the entire journey.
Likewise, 4 hydration points have been adapted that will be located at the entrance to Chuquiribamba on the road to Catamayo, in the Taquil parish, at the Y that leads to the Piedra Tunnel and another in the Tunnel.
Finally, with the aim of boosting the economy, the Trapichillo Community Ombudsman’s Office will offer typical food to the participants and attendees of the event. (D)
