SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Members of the Italian police arrested a Cuban for having a clandestine weapons manufacturing laboratory in his home.
According to what was reported in the Italian press, the Carabinieri of the Roma Settecamini station and those of the Tivoli Business Operational Center arrested Edgar Molina, 22 years old, of Cuban origin but residing in Villaggio Falcone in the Ponte di Nona neighborhood.
The Cuban is suspected of the crimes of illicit possession of weapons and ammunition and illicit manufacture of weapons and ammunition.
The Carabinieri, following an investigation, carried out a house search in the house of the detainee, who had a history of crimes related to drug trafficking and in his home they found a laboratory for manufacturing weapons.
The Carabinieri found a revolver with bullets inside under the pillow of the young man’s bed and inside the basement they found a submachine gun, a pistol with the serial number partially worn out, another in the shape of a pen that he built.
In addition to the weapons, they seized numerous materials and precision instruments, such as lathes, saws and tools, necessary for the manufacture of weapons, as well as handwritten notes with manufacturing plans, written by the young man.
A subsequent investigation also made it possible to find two large homemade tear gas canisters, as well as gunpowder and all the material to make pyrotechnic devices.
All of this was seized along with 100 home-made cartridges and 20 g of hashish.
The suspect, who was fully capable of building, modifying and increasing the power of different weapons, was imprisoned. The Court of Rome validated his arrest and ordered his imprisonment.
