The iftar market of Mirpur in the capital has gathered. Shops selling iftar items are crowded with customers. Although the restaurant owners could not do much business at the beginning of the fast. But now they are happy because the sales are good.

Recently, due to the fire in the Green Cozy Cottage building on Bailey Road, various government agencies and law enforcement agencies raided various restaurants in the capital. Many restaurants are also sealed and fined by mobile courts.

Fearing punishment, many restaurant owners shut down for a few days citing renovations. Again many conscious people started avoiding these restaurants. Although the sales of iftar and other food were less in the restaurants during the first few days of fasting, now the restaurants have become patient again.

On Friday (March 29) afternoon, visiting various restaurants and talking to the restaurant owners, it is known that many people are selling iftar items outside the restaurants, small shops, on the sidewalks and also to get tables. Iftar sales begin after Asr prayers, most of Iftar items are sold out half an hour before Maghrib prayers, vendors said.

Iftar items include potato chops, onions, beguni as well as kebabs, chicken rolls, sasalik, whole chicken, haleem, different types of biryani are available in the food shops. However, they say that the demand for chapa and kebab items Jilapi and Halim is more.

When asked, a sales staff of Mirpur’s 11:30 Banlata restaurant said that iftar sales have been good since the first day of fasting. Most of the iftar items are gone before 6:30. Kebab, Saslik, Khashir Legroast, Halim, Jilapi are sold more.

At the restaurant, special Onthanon Tk 40, Spring Roll Tk 40, Fried Chicken Tk 75, Chicken Drumstick Tk 69, Chicken Shaslik Tk 80, Prawn Ball Tk 60, Beef Kopta Tk 55, Prawn Toast Tk 60, Khasir Leg Roast Tk 800, Masala Chicken Tk 400 Tk, whole grill Tk 450, different types of kebabs Tk 50-100, Halim bowls Tk 200-1000 depending on the price.

Bahari Iftar can be seen at Puro Restaurant on its left side. Shahi Jilapi was seen selling at Tk 600 per kg, Chicken Sharma at Tk 135, Chicken Delight at Tk 135, Chicken Pizza Bun at Tk 100.

Rezaul Islam, a customer who came to buy Iftar at Mirpur at 11:30, said that the food is covered here, which is a good thing. But the price is much higher than many places. In Dhanmondi, kebab items are available at Tk 30-40, Sharma at Tk 70-80. The prices of iftar products here are slightly higher.
