Critics deconstruct the rhetoric in poems in Tetouan

The House of Poetry in Tetouan, the day before yesterday, Saturday, at the Cultural Center “Eklil” in Tetouan, renewed the meeting between rhyming systems, music melodies, and critical reading of the poetic works of Abdelhak Benrahmoun, Ahmed Zniber, and Omar Mustafa Bouaziz, as part of the “Signatures” series, with the participation of a group of critics, academics, and poetry enthusiasts.

Critic Omar Al-Asri presented a critical paper on Ahmed Zniber’s collection, “Maqamat Al-Marble,” in which he considered that the poet remained in his poems drawn to the city of Salé and his memories of it, highlighting that Zniber’s poetic experience was based on an existential goal and searching for a safe haven, but the authority of writing obliged The poet consciously searches for a language that transcends the previous, allowing him to reside in a language that does not confirm, but rather denies the other, highlights the individual self, and builds a poetic place.

For his part, Zubair Al-Khayyat presented his critical paper on the collection “Strings of Insight” by the poet and journalist Abdelhak Benrahmoun, in which he explained that the poet Benrahmoun rose among the flock of Moroccan modernist poets in the nineties of the last century, and carried their innovative vision for poetry, from which he shaped his world according to the artistic and intellectual perception of his generation, reminding that His last collection of poetry was written between the two shores of loss and fate/Andalusia and Morocco in the days of “Covid”, and it was made with love, contentment and a caring eye. It is a monologue with the mother in her isthmus and a dialogue with places in their pain and forgetfulness.

As for the critic Hassan Ghastoul, he presented a critical paper on the collection of Omar Mustafa Bouaziz, “The Sea of ​​Secrets,” in which he highlighted that the titles that were decided in each text of this collection, as well as every refrain that was repeated, carried within its folds a secret that it deposited in the soul of the recipient, who is preoccupied with the artistic phenomenon in terms of It is a circumstantial self-production, which seeks to link the characteristics and circumstances of the experience with the generality of the application of the law, according to which its environmental and existential provisions are regulated.

The director of the Poetry House in Tetouan, Mukhles Al-Saghir, said in a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press that the “Signatures” series is a program for the circulation of poetry books, indicating that the goal and ultimate goal of my poetic creativity is to reach readers as a whole and included in a poetry collection. He added that “Signatures “It is an opportunity for a meeting between the poet and his readers through the critical medium.

He highlighted that this episode of “Signatures” hosted three poetic voices, silently highlighting Wazen’s presence in the Moroccan literary and poetic scene, and presenting her latest creativity in the world of poetry.
