The former president Cristina Kirchner criticized the decree of necessity and urgency (DNU) 70/2023 of Javier Miley where the head of state establishes the deregulation of the economy. The former president described him as “evil” and charged against the president.

It was during a meeting with two representatives of the Malvinas Islands Ex-Combatants Center, Rodolfo Carrizo y Ernesto Alonsowho filed a legal action against the mega decree.

“They were the ones who filed the legal action against decree 70, the evil one,” he said, making the gesture of quotation marks with his hands and affirmed: “Against the issue of the repeal of the Land Law that we had sanctioned during our government to prevent the foreignization of lands.”

“These gentlemen, in addition to defending the Malvinas against the English enemy, defend the Earth, yours too, in the courts. The courts agreed with them and suspended the validity of Decree 70 regarding the Land Law,” said the former president.

Carrizo and Alonso belong to the Center of Former Combatants Islas Malvinas (CECIM) of La Plata, the group that, through a judicial complaint, prevented the repeal of the Land Law that sought to eliminate Milei’s DNU through article 154. The Federal Chamber sentenced weeks back that “the basis of the contested DNU – only three lines regarding the repeal of Law 26,737 – does not specifically show the way in which this would impact the improvement of the Argentine socioeconomic situation and would make it impossible to wait for its treatment. normal by the National Congress.”

In the ruling, the court held that “the challenged DNU on land matters constitutes a simple and straightforward repeal of convenience of law 26,737. It is not intended to alleviate a supposed exceptional situation and introduces reforms that are permanent in nature and modify laws of the National Congress.”

The Land Law establishes that only 15% of Argentina’s total rural territory can be in the hands of foreigners. The National Government’s proposal would eliminate this limit, so negotiations to acquire rural lands and territory near the borders would be released to the will of the negotiating parties.
