The Portuguese Player is available to speak with the Las Vegas Police, but only via videoconference due to scheduling reasons. Peter S. Christiansen has already informed the authorities of Ronaldo’s intentions.
Cristiano Ronaldo is available to be interviewed by the North American authorities in connection with the case of alleged rape of Kathryn Mayorga, but he will have to be questioned via videoconference because Juventus’ schedule does not allow him to travel to the United States. According to Correio da Manhã, the Portuguese international’s lawyer has already told the Las Vegas Police that Ronaldo is available to speak. And he has already asked to consult the process when the investigation phase is completed.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s availability was expressed after Peter S. Christiansen, the lawyer leading the Portuguese national team captain’s defense, sent a press release suggesting that the documents published by Football Leaks and later by Der Spiegel magazine were manipulated or fabricated: “Cristiano Ronaldo vehemently denies all the accusations contained in the aforementioned civil action, consistent with what he has done over the last 9 years. The documents that supposedly contain statements by Mr. Ronaldo and were reproduced in the media are pure inventions”.
Peter S. Christiansen said that “significant parts” of the documents with Cristiano Ronaldo’s signatures and statements were “altered and/or completely fabricated.
The American lawyer based in Las Vegas claims that the secret agreement signed between Kathryn Mayorga, the teacher’s lawyer and the lawyers of Cristiano Ronaldo — who was not present at the meeting and was represented by the Portuguese Osório de Castro — does not constitute an admission of fault:
“What happened was simply that Cristiano Ronaldo simply followed the advice of his advisors to put an end to the outrageous accusations made against him, in order precisely to avoid attempts, like those we are witnessing now, to destroy a reputation built on hard work, athletic ability and correct behavior.”
Ronaldo admits that he had sexual relations with the American teacher, who at the time was a model and attended nightclubs, but that “what happened in 2009 in Las Vegas was completely consensual”. According to Peter S. Christiansen, the documents where Ronaldo says that Kathryn Mayorga “said ‘no’ and ‘stop’ several times” are false and were tampered with after a cyber attack a decade ago. And this is the version of events that Cristiano Ronaldo is now available to tell the authorities.
