The Government of Cesar made official with the community the construction of the Western Circunvalar Road Ring. The point of the event was adjacent to Bello Horizonte, one of the more than 100 neighborhoods of communes 4 and 5, which will directly benefit from this mega-project of road infrastructure, which improves mobility throughout Valledupar.
“It is a good work, because it brings a lot of benefit to the community. Starting from Los Cauchos, from Ciudadela 450 Años to here, in Don Miguel, very good. It was very much needed. That will bring a lot of employment, because there are many unemployed people around here,” noted José Gregorio Catalán Martínez, a resident of the La Nevada neighborhood.
This area of Valledupar longed for this type of investment by the institutions, which generate progress and improvement in the quality of life, since they allow for the generation of employment, an increase in patrols by the authorities, the offer of transportation routes and access for all public and private institutions.
“We feel happy with these works that will move all these neighborhoods forward, Villa Consuelo, Campo Romero, Bello Horizonte, Francisco Javier, all those that are adjacent to the Ring Road. What a joy it is when a work arrives that impacts us and we are ready to move forward,” said Adriano Lima Meza, leader of Francisco Javier.
Similarly, Teofani Caro, leader of Commune 5, said that “from today we are no longer a red zone, we are waiting to work and contribute to society. I have been leader of Bello Horizonte for 30 years and from now on Valledupar will hear much more from us.”
For his part, the mayor of Valledupar, Mello Castro, said that “this is an investment that will be available to the people, who we welcome with great pleasure, as leaders and as citizens. These are the works that materialize thanks to an articulated effort by a departmental government and a municipal government.”
The Western Circunvalar Road Ring is a 35-meter wide road, with two carriageways of 7 meters each and a five-meter separator. It will have a 2.4 meter wide cycle path and complies with the concept of a sustainable city, because the cycle path will be completely tree-lined.
“We have the opportunity to witness the most revolutionary and historic road project that has been carried out in the capital of Cesar and was planned from day one of the government, by Luis Alberto Monsalvo. The design is one of the best that has been achieved in the country. This is how a city is planned for the future,” said Governor Andrés Meza.
