Construction of a “Lidl” store begins in Kuldīga

It is planned that the building area of ​​the new store will be about 2,385 square meters with a sales hall of almost 1,340 square meters.

The new “Lidl” store was designed by the architects of “Diānas Zalānes design office”, but the construction works of the building were entrusted to SIA “Angāze”.

According to the company, in order to ensure traffic, the project envisages the construction of completely new sections of Jāņas and Rātskunga streets, which will connect to the existing Mucenieku and Aizputes streets, at the expense of “Lidl”. A row of large red maple trees will be built along the new Jāņas and Rātskung streets, which will beautify the store’s surroundings in autumn.

It is planned to create 120 parking spaces for “Lidl” customers near the store. According to the initiative of the city municipality, 15 of these parking spaces will be allocated for the needs of the residents of the nearest neighborhood.

Currently, the company does not mention the possible opening date of the store, as well as the investment of the project.

It has already been announced that “Lidl Latvija” in the financial year, which lasted from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023, worked with a turnover of 442.378 million euros, which is 4.4 times more than the year before, while the company’s losses decreased several times and was 3.847 million euros.

“Lidl Latvija” was registered in October 2016, and its share capital is 365.5 million euros, according to “Firmas.lv” information. The sole owner of the company is the German “CE – Beteiligungs-GmbH”.
