MEXICO CITY (apro).- At least four shark attacks were reported on July 4 on the beaches of South Padre Island, Texas, United States.
American media reported consecutive shark attacks on swimmers; at least two cases were documented on video and photographs that were shared on social media.

A man suffered a severe bite on his leg. In the image circulating on social media, the victim can be seen lying on the sand while being treated by medical personnel and other tourists.
Another case reported on social media is that of a woman who is rescued by other tourists, who drag her to the shore and try to care for her.
The video shows the woman being seriously injured in her left calf; another shot shows a shark hovering near the area where the attack occurred.
The information so far indicates that the attack occurred at 11 a.m. near access 14 of the beach; the authorities deployed drones, boats and helicopters to fly over the area and warn the tourists who remained on the beaches.
There is no information yet on the condition of the injured.
