Together we know what can help us combat loneliness
Vienna (OTS) – The Vienna Volunteer Agency is a new project for social engagement and was launched by Social City Vienna in cooperation with the Vienna Relief Organization and the Vienna City Information Center.
In addition to advice for people who would like to volunteer and advice for organizations that work with volunteers or plan to do so, the volunteer agency also offers volunteer opportunities for people in Vienna. As so-called engagement guides, volunteers promote social engagement in their region and help reduce social isolation.
The Vienna Volunteer Agency’s engagement pilots are essential links in the gemEINSAM campaign by not only providing information about knowledge and research results, but also communicating participatively and encouraging local people to get involved voluntarily and make social connections. Through their role, they actively contribute to promoting social cohesion and reducing social isolation. All pilots take part in two free workshops before their deployment and are intended to act as contacts and supporters for people who want to get involved in local initiatives or projects or develop them themselves.
The Vienna Volunteer Agency offers ongoing support and opportunities for networking, exchange and further training for the pilots.
Volunteers from the pilot regions (North/Centre/South) are currently being sought for the next free qualification as engagement pilots, which starts in summer 2024.
