Moroccan national team coach, Walid Regragui, said that his country seeks to win, today, Saturday, against its Portuguese counterpart, in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, and continue writing history.
The Moroccan team reached this round after eliminating the Spanish team, becoming the first Arab team to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup, and the fourth African team.
Regragui said, during the press conference that preceded the match: “We are the dark horse of the tournament, and we will continue to play only to achieve victory, and we will give our best to continue writing history. The entire continent of Africa stands behind us, as do all the Arabs, and we will strive to make them all happy and achieve their aspirations.”
He continued: “We have all respect for the Portuguese team and we analyzed it well. They have distinguished attacking players, but we are also special. We will go into a difficult match, and the match will be decided by small details. We will do what we are good at, and we will try to create difficulties for Portugal.”
Regragui confirmed his endeavor to create a pleasant surprise for the people of Morocco by eliminating the Portuguese team from the World Cup. He said: “We will face a team that is one of the best in the world and has the best player in history (Cristiano Ronaldo). We will not try to focus on the opponent. We will only think about ourselves and try not to make mistakes.” “To try to exclude Portugal.”
Al-Ragraki said: “Some players suffer from exhaustion and fatigue due to the pressure of matches. We are trying to overcome this, and the medical staff plays a major role in preparing and qualifying the players for each match, and in the event that a player is unable to participate in the match, the substitute will enter and provide a lot with the group.”
