The Government of Colombia The ceasefire ended on Tuesday with the dissidence by Néstor Vera Fernández, alias ‘Ivan Bite’. The announcement was made by the Minister of Defense, Ivan Velasquez.

This cease-fire does not apply to other structures and fronts of the Central General Staff (EMC) of the FARC. This shows the division that exists within of the armed group itself.

Velasquez on behalf of the Government of Colombia He ordered the Army and the Police to attack the three fronts led by ‘Mordisco’. In that order, he considers that they have not been fulfilling the commitments acquired within the framework of the peace negotiations.

The fronts at the command of ‘Ivan Bite’ “They have distanced themselves from the generous offer that the National Government had maintained in the search for peace,” lamented Velásquez.
