Collective Labor Agreement Signed Between Terme Municipality and Union

The ongoing collective labor agreement (TİS) negotiations between Samsun’s Terme Municipality and the authorized union have resulted in a major gain for the workers. Mayor Kul said, “It is not possible for a city to be happy if its employees are not happy. First of all, we wanted to make our colleagues happy.”

A collective labor agreement concerning 171 personnel working at Terme Municipality was signed. The agreement was signed by Terme Mayor Şenol Kul, Service-Labor Union Samsun Branch President Ziya Uzun and workplace representatives at the ceremony held at the municipality service building. Within the scope of the 3-year agreement, improvements were made to the daily wages of the workers, while their social rights were increased by 15% to 20%. In the agreement, the field personnel of the cleaning and technical services directorate will receive additional improvement differences.

“We are doing what is required of us”

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Terme Mayor Şenol Kul said, “The beauties that catch our eye in the city we live in are due to the sweat of our teammates, we know this. For this reason, we are expanding our opportunities in favor of our valuable colleagues. Terme is a big family, we as Terme Municipality are also a big family. We set out as a happy city. We work so that they can say ‘May Allah be pleased’. We always said that the municipality was a trust to us and we will do what is necessary for this trust. We are trying to provide better opportunities to our employees with the understanding of social municipality. We signed the collective labor agreement as a result of our meetings with the workers’ union Hak-İş officials. We tried to offer the best to our workers by straining our means. I hope that the collective agreement will be beneficial to all our employees.” – SAMSUN
