To avoid health risks, Cofepris issued a health alert about an oncological drug.
The Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) alerted health professionals and the regulated sector to preventively immobilize and suspend the use and administration of the oncological drug Methotrexate injectable solution 500 mg, with lot number HIMH23020 and expiration date August 2026.
The supplier is Biosistemas y Seguridad Privada, SA de CV and according to the federal agency, some irregularities were detected.
The above was determined as a precautionary measure to avoid and/or control any health risk, since said product is under investigation derived from the notification of at least two federal entities that point out irregularities in the product.
Due to the above, Cofepris recommends to the population: suspend the use and administration of the product Methotrexate injectable solution with the aforementioned characteristics until the health authority determines what is appropriate, as well as immobilize preventively until the Federal Commission determines what is appropriate, taking carry out the storage and conservation instructions indicated on the product label.
