The operation called “Sarika” first edition was closed on Saturday April 13, 2024. Led by the national police throughout the island, this action which lasted 15 days was primarily intended to encourage the police in carrying out of their mission to help and protect the population. Added to this is the fight against acts of organized crime through the dismantling of their perpetrators as well as the fight against gender-based violence including rape of all kinds, according to the explanation of the Minister of Public Security, the Controller General of Police, Herilala Rakotoarimanana, during the field trip carried out by senior officials of the national police to mark the end of this operation. This Saturday, the minister led a tour through the city of Antananarivo and its surroundings, from Sabotsy Namehana to Isotry via Alasora. On this occasion, the minister and his staff spoke with those responsible for village security in order to listen to their problems and provide immediate solutions. The minister did not fail to take stock of this operation, including the results of the accident-free Easter operation. According to him, the first edition of “Sarika is over but the pacification actions carried out by the police continue to preserve the security of the population”.
