CINEMA – Another step backwards. It’s actress Clémentine Célarié’s turn this Tuesday 9 January to want it “log out” from the platform of support for Gérard Depardieu, judging to have done so “deceived” by signing and presenting it “I apologize to those I may have hurt”. “I absolutely want to dissociate myself from this platform”he writes in a message sent to AFP.

“I’m impulsive, I got carried away and I painfully regret it. I was wrong. I apologize to those I may have hurt, because I stand with them with all my heart.”he adds.

The actress is one of sixty signatories of a forum invoked by the pro-Depardieu camp “do not cancel” the icon of French cinema, released on Christmas Day in Le Figaro.

“I have always wanted peace and love”

The 75-year-old actor is the target of three complaints of sexual assault or rape – which he denies – and is widely criticized for the broadcast, at the beginning of December, of images in which he multiplies misogynistic and offensive comments towards women.

He has been charged with rape since 2020, following a complaint from a 20-year-old actress, Charlotte Arnould.

Since then this forum has sparked several “counters”. Several personalities from the world of culture who initially signed it later distanced themselves from it, such as Nadine Trintignant, Carole Bouquet, Gérard Darmon, Yvan Attal, Charles Berling, Jacques Weber and even Pierre Richard.
