Claudia Sheinbaum signs pact for early childhood

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, candidate of the “Let’s Keep Making History” coalition for the Presidency of Mexico, highlighted the importance of guaranteeing the happiness and comprehensive development of Mexican children by signing the Pact for Early Childhood together with groups and members of society civil.

In his words, Sheinbaum emphasized that boys and girls are the present of Mexico and not just the future. She highlighted the need to provide them with attention, protection, care, nutrition and the opportunity to play to ensure their well-being. “Early childhood, boys and girls were born to be happy,” she stated.

“Boys and girls, particularly from early childhood, are not the future of Mexico, they are the present, if we do not attend, protect, care for, nourish, feed, we give the children the possibility to play and be happy. girls, then we will not have the citizens that our country needs.

Claudia Sheinbaum recalled that she promoted the development of girls and boys since she was Head of Government of Mexico City, with actions such as the Children’s Stays and assured that a boy or girl who grows up with love has a very different adult life.

The 12 goals of the Early Childhood Pact include:

1.- Reduce poverty and extreme poverty in early childhood 2.- Reduce chronic nutrition, anemia and overweight in children under 5 years of age 3.- Increase breastfeeding 4.- Ensure that girls and boys aged 1 and 2 have their complete vaccination schedule 5.- Apply neonatal screening and increase health coverage for children with disabilities 6.- Increase percentage of children under 5 years of age with adequate child development 7.- Children under 3 years of age with initial education8.- After 3 years they receive preschool of quality 9.- Parenting skills programs for children under 6 years of age 10.- That all boys and girls are registered in the civil registry before turning one year old 11.- Advance in the eradication of violence against children12.-Increase participation of parents in play activities in early childhood
