The virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, ruled out going for a tax reform at the beginning of her government, and clarified that to obtain greater revenue she is going for the digitalization of areas within the government and investing in customs.
In that sense, Sheinbaum announced the creation of the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency, an organization that does not represent a higher cost and has the objective of achieving a 50% reduction in procedures for greater investment, but at the same time greater collection.
“We are not thinking about carrying out a tax reform. Where are we going to obtain resources from? From two areas, of digitalization within the government, greater digitalization of the SAT, which we believe will give us significant collection potential and at the same time other very important collection areas such as customs,” he said. before the national council of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).
He explained that the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency seeks to bring together the different areas of government digitalization to streamline procedures.
“(…) Our objective is ambitious, 50% reduction in procedures, 50% less time, 50% fewer requirements and 80% digitized processes through single windows that allow us to establish a relationship between the different levels of government and that facilitate investment,” he explained.
According to its presentation, the SAT will have greater collection efficiency; tax intelligence to combat evasion and avoidance. While in customs the Single Customs Platform for interoperability is being created.
Furthermore, the Agency will not only facilitate the procedures but will also have the task of launching the first Mexican satellite into orbit.

On the other hand, Sheinbaum asked businessmen to work on the relocation of companies and welfare centers, emphasizing the promotion of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport area.
He added that there must be housing for workers, clinics and schools, “free trade and industrial development and business development but that allows us to combine to have even greater potential.”
