Los children and adolescents Guatemalans returned to the classrooms this Monday, February 19, as the school cycle 2024 in it public sector. The streets of the capital and surrounding municipalities were observed with greater influx and high vehicle load, as thousands of students traveled to their respective establishments.
As part of the inauguration of the classes, an activity was carried out at the Prados de Villa Hermosa Official Mixed Urban School, in the municipality of San Miguel Petapa, Guatemala.
The teacher of the aforementioned establishment, Clara Luz Ortiz, offered a few words and said a prayer in front of the teachers, parents and students before being able to resume the activities.
Afterwards, amid greetings, hugs and smiles, the students entered their classrooms where they began the process of learning songs and writing, mathematics and other training lessons to continue their educational process.

Expectations and challenges for the school year
The director of the aforementioned school, Celia Martínez Rodas, expressed her excitement at starting another cycle in which it can be shared with minors and the educational community in general. “They are very happy and we are happy to have all our children here,” said.
He added that the expectations they have are related to working with the different commissions within the campus and the teaching staff to form a plan that allows raising awareness among parents to obtain the necessary support in the development of the different activities.

“Parents motivate us every day and their support is vital, especially because this year we do not have a janitor, guardian, or staff to prepare the sacred foods. But we are going to organize ourselves, all together we can do a great job,” explained the interviewee.
Likewise, he shared that there are a series of projects to serve the student population of the primary and pre-primary levels who attend that school daily.
Mainly the pending work will be managed, because although progress has been made in part of the renovation, there is still work to be done to address, for example, the situation of the toilets.
