Georgia’s law enforcement agencies have started using pepper spray against those protesting the draft law on foreign agents in front of the parliament in Tbilisi.

Publika.az TASS reported on this.

It was reported that there were injuries from both sides during the conflict. Media representatives are also among the victims. They are assisted on the spot by emergency medical teams.

According to the latest information, the police and special forces are trying to remove the people who caused the clashes from the back of the parliament building. Law enforcement officers use water cannons. At present, people are being gradually removed from the Georgian parliament.

It should be noted that on April 30, another rally against the law on foreign agents began near the Georgian Parliament building in Tbilisi.

In the afternoon of April 30, Georgian deputies started considering the law on foreign agents in the second reading. Lawmakers intend to discuss the document item by item, which takes a lot of time. The meeting may continue the next day.

A day ago, the legal committee of the Georgian parliament approved the law on foreign agents in the second reading. The review of the document lasted for nearly 10 hours and was accompanied by “shootings” between the representatives of the government and the opposition.

Earlier, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili expressed hope that rallies against the law on foreign agents will continue.
