New Delhi (Viswas News). Amid rising temperatures, a video is going viral on social media in which a bike can be seen catching fire. Sharing the video, users are claiming that the bike caught fire due to the heat and this incident has come to light in Darbhanga, Bihar.

Sharing the viral post, a Facebook user wrote, “In the hot afternoon, a bike caught fire in Donar, the busiest area of ​​Darbhanga. While trying to extinguish the fire with water, the tank exploded as soon as it was opened, one person was badly injured…”

Starting our investigation, we first extracted the key frames of the video and searched them through Google Lens. In the search, we found this video uploaded on a verified X handle named ‘Mumbai News’ in April 2022. Here the video was said to be from Nalasopara.

On this basis, we furthered our investigation and found many news reports related to this matter. According to India TV Hindi’s news of 13 April 2022, “A video of a bike catching fire in Nalasopara has surfaced. This accident happened at the check post in front of the Silk Center. Actually, here a boy was extinguishing the fire in the battery part of the bike with water, when suddenly there was a huge explosion in the bike and the bike caught fire. In this accident, 2 people have been badly burnt, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.”

According to the news given on NDTV, ‘A CNG auto and a motorcycle collided. Immediately after the collision, the motorcycle tank caught fire. Surprisingly, this fire broke out when water was being poured from a pipe to extinguish the small fire in the motorcycle tank. On the advice of the people, the youth tried to extinguish the fire. But as soon as the youth opened the lid of the tank, the fire flared up rapidly. This fire was so intense that the youth also got caught in it. Even an auto standing nearby also got burnt in this fierce fire.’

The viral video is being shared with the reference of Darbhanga in Bihar. To confirm this, we contacted Dainik Jagran Darbhanga’s district in-charge Mrityunjay Bhardwaj and shared the video with him. He informed us, ‘This video is going viral on the internet for the last two-three days claiming it to be from Darbhanga, but this video is not from here.’

During social scanning of the Facebook group ‘Uttarakhand’ which shared the fake post, we found that this group has more than 15 thousand members.
