Moroccan cinemas are preparing to host the first screening of the feature film “On the Margins” by Moroccan director Jihan Bahar, as it is expected to enhance the programming of national cinemas after a tour of a number of important international events.
The “Cinema Festival”, which will be held from September 7 to 10, is expected to host the pre-premiere screening of Jihan Bahar’s new film “On the Margins”, in an exclusive meeting with fans of the seventh art before it is scheduled for screening in a number of halls in various Moroccan cities.
“On the Margins,” written by director Jihan Al-Bahar and Nadia Kamali Marouazi, tells three love stories over 119 minutes, whose protagonists are marginalized, and whose fates will intersect unexpectedly in a profound dramatic format that combines social and psychological elements with a distinct artistic style that reflects the reality of the characters.
According to its director, this work sheds light on a group of thorny and bold topics, such as incest, human organ trafficking, and pedophilia, and on a group that suffers in silence, stressing that it is necessary to discuss such topics in cinema, considering that films are the voice of everyone who suffers and cannot find a way to express their suffering.
The film features the participation of a group of the brightest stars of the Moroccan art scene, including Majdouline Idrissi, Aziz Dades, Hind Benjbara, Khalil Wabakki, Fatima Zahra Benacer, Abdel Latif Shawqi, and others.
