Kajli Khatun (25), daughter of poor van driver Tacher Ali of Kumari Union of Alamdanga Upazila of Chuadanga, migrated to Dubai to bring prosperity to her family. However, prosperity was not returned to the family. He was killed at work.
The murder took place in Dubai on Friday (April 19). A female colleague of Kajli called from there and informed the family about the death.
Family members said that Kajli is the daughter of Tcher Ali. Kajli and her younger sister worked in garments in Dhaka. From there, Kajli went to Dubai seven months ago without telling anyone at home. Later on the phone said that he has gone to Dubai. Come home in Ramadan. But without celebrating Eid with his family, Kajli went back to work. Money was supposed to be sent home this month too.
On Friday, a woman identified as Kajli’s colleague called from Dubai and informed about the murder. The woman said that Kajli used to get some salary from the supervisor. He had an argument with the supervisor asking for money. Meanwhile, supervisor Lokman Hossain aka Psycho hit Kajoli on the head with a glass bottle and she died.
Kajli’s father Tasher Ali said, ‘That supervisor’s in-law is Tangail. But I don’t know where his house is. I want justice for this murder. The government should return my daughter’s body as soon as possible.’
Abu Saeed Pintu, Chairman of Kumari Union said, I have learned that Kajli Khatun was killed by the supervisor of the company at the workplace in Dubai. The incident is very sad. An application has been made to bring his body back to the country.
Alamdanga Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) called Snigdha Das’s mobile phone to inquire about this, but he did not receive.
